Episode 017 - Let's talks about saving lives in the air! Flight Nurse 101

Jennifer Baxley, RN 

 

Jennifer Baxley is a flight nurse with Med-Trans Air Reach out of Mullins, South Carolina. Born and raised in Kansas, Jennifer went to Emporia State University for her nursing degree. She then graduated and moved to Texas for her first job on a Medical/Surgical floor. Knowing she wanted ER, she applied and was offered a job in Nashville, Tennessee to work for Vanderbilt University Medical Center in their Trauma Level I Emergency Department. 

 She then found her way to South Carolina and worked in the ER before transferring to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Jennifer obtained her EMT and began working for a 911 rescue squad and patient transport company on the side. After a lot of hard work, tears, overtime, and failure, she finally achieved her goal of becoming a flight nurse.

She has been a flight nurse for a little over two years now and is about to start with a hospital based program in hopes of advancing her educational opportunities and skills. She has always had a passion for nursing and the rewarding feeling that comes with caring for others. She hopes to encourage and inspire others through this podcast!
